HA! This album represents the glorious intersection where what was, what is, and what will be meet.
An audio guide, in essence, of accepting the permanently impermanent. Wisdom expressed without a word.

Hydro Fyter Such a beautiful ensemble of music. It's fluid from beginning to end. The timbres and textures are perfectly crafted. I'm having trouble selecting a favorite track but I love how this album resolves. Well done!! Favorite track: Transmigration.

Fringes of Sound With this release, The Broken Cradle is really showing a greater depth and significance in the subjects covered. Highly evocative soundscapes that explore the theme of people coming to terms with their own mortality is a perfectly soothing complement to your own personal existential concerns. Favorite track: Point of Destruction.

about

Post Mortal was inspired by watching my children grow and considering that I would not be in their lives one day. Hopefully that day is very, very far in the future. This album is a reflection of those thoughts and feelings and explores what might come after.

But this isn’t a melancholic album--it is a reflection on living in the here and now as well as on themes and beliefs in what comes after. Bardo, for example, is a Buddhist belief in the state of existence between two lives. Interregnum is simply a pause or an interruption in continuity. Point of Creation and Point of Destruction could be taken literally, but they also have significance in our choices--that every decision to leave something behind is a decision to embrace something new.

In the end though, this is really a parent recognizing his own impermanence. This is, as always, an album to my children and an expression of my deepest questions and doubts in this world and the world to come.
